Contacts and customer history
How Arasta recognises a returning customer, verified versus claimed emails, other conversations and the customer timeline.
Arasta links conversations to a contact — a customer of your store known by email address — so your team sees who they are talking to and what happened before.
How a customer is recognised
- Verified: the customer passed order verification or is a logged-in customer of your store.
- Not verified: the customer typed an email address in the chat but has not proven it. Treat it as a claim: do not share order or account details until they verify.
- WhatsApp: the conversation shows the customer's WhatsApp profile name and a masked number. An email is linked once the customer gives or verifies one.
The Customer section
In a conversation, Details → Customer shows the name, email, Identity (Verified / Not verified) and Site login (Signed in / Not signed in).
Other conversations and the timeline
Above the messages you can switch between:
- Current conversation,
- Other conversations of the same customer (with a count and search),
- Customer timeline — orders placed, payments, shipments, previous chats, emails and order actions, newest first.
The Platform tab shows the customer's live account, orders and cart from your store.
Privacy
Contacts are deleted with their conversations by Delete customer data — see Data and privacy.
